When Aspen Snowmass opens in 2026/27

November 26, 2026 — published by Aspen Snowmass, on its own mountain pages. That is Snowmass and Aspen Mountain; Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk both list December 12.

It also publishes a closing date, which is unusual in North America: April 18, 2027.

• Aspen Snowmass advertises "more than 5,700+ acres" across its four mountains; adding up the per-mountain figures on its own site gives 5,305. Runs and lifts here are the sum of the four mountains.

Every figure above is one Aspen Snowmass publishes itself; where the resort does not publish something, we leave the line out rather than fill it in. Base and summit are the lowest and highest lift-served points of the whole resort — at a multi-mountain resort they can belong to different peaks, so the gap between them is not the vertical drop of any single run. How the terrain splits by ability

Aspen Snowmass does not publish a percentage split of its terrain by ability, so we are not giving you one. The resort page has the trail map, which is the honest way to judge it.
