When Park City opens in 2026/27

November 20, 2026 — published by Vail Resorts, in its August 18 opening-date release. Announced as a target date, weather and snow permitting.

No closing date has been published for 2026/27. North American resorts normally announce the opening day in late summer and leave the closing day to the snowpack, so treat any April or May date you read elsewhere as last season's.

Base and summit are the lowest and highest lift-served points of the whole resort — at a multi-mountain resort they can belong to different peaks, so the gap between them is not the vertical drop of any single run. How the terrain splits by ability

Park City grades its terrain as Beginner 8%, Intermediate 42%, Advanced 50%. Those are the resort's own categories: North America grades by difficulty relative to the mountain, so an "advanced" run here is not the same thing as a red run in the Alps.
