Alcazar Seville tickets: prices, opening times and what to see
A general admission ticket to the Royal Alcazar of Seville (Real Alcázar) costs €15.50. You can buy it on the monument's official ticketing website or at the ticket office in the Patio de Banderas, which opens at 9:00, sells only for the same day and takes cards only. It covers the ground floor of the palaces and the gardens. The Cuarto Real Alto, the upper floor of King Peter's Palace, costs €5.50 extra. Concession tickets are €8 for over-65s and for students or European Youth Card holders aged 14 to 30.
Children up to 13 with an adult, people born or living in the city of Seville and people with a disability of 33% or more, among others, pay nothing but still need a €0 ticket. Entry is by 30-minute time slots with limited capacity, and on busy dates online tickets sell out in advance.
If there are tickets left for your day, the official ticket costs the least. The guided tours further down cost more because they add a guide, and often the Cathedral and the Giralda: they make sense if you want someone to explain it all or cannot find a slot on the official website.

They cost more than the official ticket because a guide is included; availability and prices are set by each operator.
Royal Alcazar of Seville ticket prices
These are the prices published by the Patronato del Real Alcázar, the body that runs the monument, as of October 2026. General admission also gets you into the Antiquarium, the Triana Ceramics Museum and Casa Fabiola on the same day or the next. Concessions, which used to be for EU citizens only, now apply to every nationality, and you must show proof at the Puerta del León entrance.

How to buy tickets and what to do if they sell out
The official online sales point is the Real Alcázar ticketing website, linked from alcazarsevilla.org. Tickets are issued in your name: you must enter an ID card or passport number when buying, and the physical document is checked at the entrance. Printed or mobile tickets are both accepted.
Entry is by 30-minute slot: you can go in through the Puerta del León from 15 minutes before to 30 minutes after the time on your ticket. Tickets cannot be changed to another date or time and are non-refundable, even if you made a mistake when buying.
If your date shows as sold out online, there is still the ticket office: it holds back a very small allocation for each general admission slot, though not for the Cuarto Real Alto. It opens at 9:00 and sells only for that day, and on busy dates the official website suggests arriving at least an hour early.
Is the Alcazar free on Mondays?
The Alcazar's pricing bylaw provides for free public visits on days and at times set by its Executive Committee. On the official ticketing website these appear as «Lunes Gratuito Visita Real Alcázar» (free Monday visit) and are reserved there; on 7 October 2026 they were listed as sold out. Don't rely on them if your dates are fixed: if they suit you, check the official website well in advance.
What to see inside the Royal Alcazar
The Alcazar is the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, together with the Cathedral and the Archivo de Indias. It began as the seat of government that Caliph Abd al-Rahman III ordered built in 913; Almohad work followed, then Alfonso X's Gothic Palace and, from 1356, the Mudéjar palace of Peter I, which is still the heart of the complex today.
General admission covers the ground floor of the palaces and all the gardens. These are some of the stops marked on the official map:
King Peter's Palace: the Patio de las Doncellas (Courtyard of the Maidens), with its tiled dados, and the Hall of the Ambassadors
Patio de las Muñecas (Courtyard of the Dolls), with capitals brought from Medina Azahara
The Gothic Palace, with the Tapestry Hall and the Baths of Doña María de Padilla
The Admiral's Hall, with Alejo Fernández's altarpiece of the Virgin of the Navigators, dated 1521
The Palacio del Yeso, from the Islamic period, with the Hall of Justice
Gardens: the Mercury Pool, the Grotesque Gallery, the Pavilion of Charles V, the English Garden and the maze
The Cuarto Real Alto: what it is and how it works
This is the upper floor of King Peter's Palace, seen on an organised partial visit at a set time. According to the official map, it includes Isabella the Catholic's bedroom and chapel, the State Dining Room, the Catholic Monarchs' Mirador, Peter I's bedroom and the Audience Hall.
The time on your ticket is when you enter these rooms, not the monument. Because of the security checks, you go in through the Puerta del León up to 60 minutes earlier, and you must be at the door on the upper floor 15 minutes before your time. If you are late, you lose your slot and have to buy a new ticket for the next available one.
Opening times, closures and how long to allow
From 1 October to 31 March the Alcazar opens from 9:30 to 17:00, and visitors are asked to leave from 17:45. From 1 April to 30 September it opens from 9:30 to 19:00, with visitors leaving from 19:45. It is closed on 1 and 6 January, Good Friday and 25 December, and opens in the morning only on 24 and 31 December.
There is no time limit inside until closing. The site is large, so Seville's tourist board recommends comfortable shoes, water in the hot months, and going early or late in the day to avoid the crowds. The gardens can close without notice because of the weather or for safety reasons, and this does not entitle you to a refund.
Visitor rules and where to go in
The entrance is the Puerta del León, on Plaza del Triunfo, and the exit is through the Patio de Banderas, where the ticket office also is. Food and drink are not allowed, except water and food for babies. Pets are not admitted, apart from guide or support dogs with their documents. The official website offers an audio guide you open on your phone by scanning a QR code, plus a PDF map you can download before you go.
