Catalan Pyrenees · 71 km · 1700–2537 m · 17 lifts
Where a group sleeps in La Molina
La Molina has hotels and hostels right in the resort core, slopeside or five minutes away, built for groups and camps from the start; Alp, ten minutes away, has mid-priced hotels and apartments; and Puigcerdà, fifteen minutes away, the largest hotels and the life of the Cerdanya capital. It is the Catalan resort with the most group accommodation per square metre.
How the group gets to La Molina
Two hours by coach from Barcelona via the Cadí tunnel, an hour and a half from Girona and Vic, and it is the only resort in Spain with a train: the Rodalies R3 reaches La Molina station and a bus goes up to the slopes. From Toulouse and Perpignan, about two and a half hours via Puigcerdà.
Skiing La Molina as a group
La Molina's lower area, around the gondola and Alabaus, is among the best in the Pyrenees for learning: wide, gentle runs with short lifts. Those who already ski go up to La Tosa and cross to Masella via the Alp 2500 gondola, which links the two resorts under one lift pass. It is Spain's oldest resort, with runs for everyone and a size where the group doesn't get lost.
After skiing in La Molina
La Molina is quiet at night; the group dinner is at the hotel or in Alp, and the night out, if any, in Puigcerdà. For a Barcelona group it is also the classic day trip: ski and be home for dinner.

Questions about group trips to La Molina
How much does a group ski trip to La Molina cost?
It depends on the number of people, the dates and whether the group sleeps at the resort or in the village. We send a per-person quote for La Molina with accommodation, lift pass, lessons, equipment and coach itemised, so you decide what goes into the shared price. We don't publish one price because it would be made up.
Is there a group rate on the La Molina lift pass?
Resorts apply group rates above a certain number of people, with conditions that change every season. With the number of skiers and the dates we tell you which rate La Molina applies and arrange it; the group only confirms the final number.
How do we pay for the trip to La Molina if everyone wants to pay their own share?
With a group code: each person books their own equipment and lift pass for the same dates and pays online, and the shop sees a single group booking. The hotel and coach are secured with a group deposit and the balance under the accommodation's conditions.
What if some of the group have never skied?
We book them beginner equipment and a two-hour group lesson on the first morning in La Molina. On day two they ski a blue run with the others. Anyone who prefers not to ski gets the same hotel and coach without lift pass or equipment.
How far ahead should we book a group in La Molina?
For 20 or more people midweek, one or two months is usually enough. For a weekend between January and March, a bank holiday or more than 50 people, secure the accommodation in October or November: hotels with room for a large group in La Molina sell out before single rooms do.
