Where a group sleeps in Sierra Nevada
Two very different options: Pradollano, the resort village at 2,100 metres, with slopeside hotels and apartments to ski without a coach; or Granada, 45 minutes away, with much cheaper hotels for a large group and the city for dinner and a night out, going up every morning on the group coach. Companies and weekend groups usually sleep in Pradollano; students in Granada.
How the group gets to Sierra Nevada
It is the best-connected resort in Spain: 45 minutes from Granada, about two hours from Málaga and its airport, three from Seville and Murcia, four from Alicante and four and a half to five from Madrid. The group coach goes up to Pradollano; with snow on the road it needs chains or you take the regular bus from Granada.
Skiing Sierra Nevada as a group
From Pradollano a gondola takes you up to Borreguiles at 2,700 metres, home to the largest and most comfortable beginner area in Spain, the ski school and the natural meeting point for any group. Those who already ski continue to Laguna and towards the Veleta, with long runs and lots of sun. Sun is Sierra Nevada's key: you ski in a T-shirt in March, and for a group of beginners that changes the day.
After skiing in Sierra Nevada
Pradollano has après-ski bars and restaurants on the square; Granada has everything else: tapas, the floodlit Alhambra and student nightlife. It is the only resort in Spain where a group can ski in the morning and dine in a big city at night, and that is what makes it unique for a stag do or a student trip.

Questions about group trips to Sierra Nevada
How much does a group ski trip to Sierra Nevada cost?
It depends on the number of people, the dates and whether the group sleeps at the resort or in the village. We send a per-person quote for Sierra Nevada with accommodation, lift pass, lessons, equipment and coach itemised, so you decide what goes into the shared price. We don't publish one price because it would be made up.
Is there a group rate on the Sierra Nevada lift pass?
Resorts apply group rates above a certain number of people, with conditions that change every season. With the number of skiers and the dates we tell you which rate Sierra Nevada applies and arrange it; the group only confirms the final number.
How do we pay for the trip to Sierra Nevada if everyone wants to pay their own share?
With a group code: each person books their own equipment and lift pass for the same dates and pays online, and the shop sees a single group booking. The hotel and coach are secured with a group deposit and the balance under the accommodation's conditions.
What if some of the group have never skied?
We book them beginner equipment and a two-hour group lesson on the first morning in Sierra Nevada. On day two they ski a blue run with the others. Anyone who prefers not to ski gets the same hotel and coach without lift pass or equipment.
How far ahead should we book a group in Sierra Nevada?
For 20 or more people midweek, one or two months is usually enough. For a weekend between January and March, a bank holiday or more than 50 people, secure the accommodation in October or November: hotels with room for a large group in Sierra Nevada sell out before single rooms do.
