Where a group sleeps in Cerler

Cerler is a small village at 1,500 metres with hotels and apartments at the foot of the chairlift; Benasque, ten minutes away, is the valley capital with the big hotels, the group apartments and the restaurants. A group of more than 30 usually sleeps in Benasque and goes up by coach.

How the group gets to Cerler

Three hours from Zaragoza, three and a half from Barcelona via Lleida and Graus, and about five from Madrid. The Benasque valley is a dead end: you arrive by the same road you leave by, and the coach goes up to the Cerler or Ampriu car park.

Skiing Cerler as a group

It is the highest resort in the Spanish Pyrenees, topping out at the Gallinero, with two areas: Cerler, which comes down to the village, and Ampriu, the high bowl with the longest runs and the beginner area. For a group that skis, it is the resort with the best ratio of vertical drop, snow and absence of queues; for beginners, Ampriu has room.

After skiing in Cerler

Benasque is a mountain village with good restaurants and a few bars; it is not a stag-do destination. It suits the mountain club, the company that wants peace and the group of friends who come to ski and eat well.

Questions about group trips to Cerler

How much does a group ski trip to Cerler cost?

It depends on the number of people, the dates and whether the group sleeps at the resort or in the village. We send a per-person quote for Cerler with accommodation, lift pass, lessons, equipment and coach itemised, so you decide what goes into the shared price. We don't publish one price because it would be made up.

Is there a group rate on the Cerler lift pass?

Resorts apply group rates above a certain number of people, with conditions that change every season. With the number of skiers and the dates we tell you which rate Cerler applies and arrange it; the group only confirms the final number.

How do we pay for the trip to Cerler if everyone wants to pay their own share?

With a group code: each person books their own equipment and lift pass for the same dates and pays online, and the shop sees a single group booking. The hotel and coach are secured with a group deposit and the balance under the accommodation's conditions.

What if some of the group have never skied?

We book them beginner equipment and a two-hour group lesson on the first morning in Cerler. On day two they ski a blue run with the others. Anyone who prefers not to ski gets the same hotel and coach without lift pass or equipment.

How far ahead should we book a group in Cerler?

For 20 or more people midweek, one or two months is usually enough. For a weekend between January and March, a bank holiday or more than 50 people, secure the accommodation in October or November: hotels with room for a large group in Cerler sell out before single rooms do.
